Obtaining affordable and accessible housing is a very important, yet often difficult, factor in making independent living a reality for people with disabilities. That is why Easter Seals North Texas offers consumers the opportunity to participate in a first-time homebuyers program entitled Home of Your Own, or HOYO.
In addition, Easter Seals North Texas has joined forces with AmeriCorps *VISTA, creating a new program called Access Housing. We are working to address the critical housing needs of local residents who are living with disabilities as well as individuals who are evacuees from hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
