Reflections Program at Easter Seals North Texas

The Reflections program at Easter Seals North Texas is dedicated to providing comprehensive services to post-mastectomy breast cancer survivors, particularly those who are uninsured, underinsured and have little or no access to care.  Each survivor admitted to the program is evaluated for specific needs and services.  Services include:

• Evaluation
• Social Services for adjustment issues
• Breast Prostheses
• Post Mastectomy Bras
• Transportation to an Easter Seals center if there is no personal means
• 6 month follow up

Staff:

A Program Coordinator who is a breast cancer survivor, along with additional highly trained staff among whom are also breast cancer survivors, administers this program.  The goal is to help each woman achieve their highest level of self-esteem possible by providing prostheses as needed, attractive undergarments, adjustment counseling by social services, physical and/or occupational therapy as needed and a resource to cope with the effects of breast cancer.

Costs:

Easter Seals North Texas has a very generous sliding scale and accepts:

• Third Party Payors
• Medicare
• Charitable Care Funding
  (Provided since 2000 by the Dallas County Affiliate and the Collin County Regional Affiliate of The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation for survivors in Dallas, Collin, Grayson and Denton Counties who have no resources to pay for services.)

Program Criteria:

• Required to have a physician's prescription
• Required to be a minimum of 6 weeks post-operative

Appointments:

All Services are available by appointment only.  A comprehensive Intake Questionnaire must be completed prior to setting appointment.  An evaluation and fitting my require 3 or more appointments.
