Easter Seals North Texas provides exceptional services for children and adults with disabilities and other special needs; these services include:
Audiology - hearing evaluations and consultations for children and adults, including hearing aid assistance for qualified adults. Services vary depending on service site. Autism Treatment Program - Each child diagnosed with autism that is admitted into the program receives a treatment plan with intervention recommendations that vary based on the child/family’s needs. Many will receive Early Intensive Behavior Intervention (EIBI) with 25-40 hours of service per week. This intensive care combined with speech-language, occupational and physical therapy interventions as well as parent coaching provides each participating family with a comprehensive autism treatment plan that meets their unique needs. Assistive Technology Services - clients receive the opportunity to utilize a variety of assistive technology devices and programs at no cost - promoting skills acquisition and practice while informing clients on the state-of-the-art technology solutions. Benefits Planning, Assistance and Outreach (Work Incentives Planning and Assistance) - adults receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits learn about the financial and medical incentives for returning to work or obtaining employment, so that they can make informed decisions. Case Management and Client Intervention - individuals with disabilities and their families receive education and information, guided referrals, peer and professional support, advocacy and case management. CLASS Case Management - children and adults who qualify for this Medicaid waiver program are assigned case managers who help them develop their service plans, advocate for them, and manage their plans to maximize each individual’s ability to live successfully in the community. Habilitation Services - adults with developmental disabilities learn and practice functional skills, such as money management and meal planning and preparation, they need for successful day-to-day independent living. Home Of Your Own - qualified individuals or families living with disabilities are assisted with a first-time home purchase. Homemaker Services - in-home helpers perform light housekeeping and laundry assistance to ensure a safe and healthy living environment for people with disabilities or other special needs. Outpatient Rehabilitation - children and adults with disabilities are evaluated and receive occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech-language therapy to improve their functional skills. Therapy services are available to those with and without insurance, although availability varies by site. Personal Assistance Services - intensive personal services, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility assistance are provided for children and adults with disabilities, enabling them to live in the community, rather than an institution. Reflections - women who have had treatment for breast cancer receive breast prostheses, comfortable and well-fitted undergarments, peer support, social services and counseling as needed. Respite Care Services - periodic, temporary relief for primary caregivers, responsible for the daily care of a child or adult with a disability or with progressively more strenuous daily needs. Workforce Development - matches skills and interests of people with disabilities with their best opportunities for success in the workplace, through exceptional relationships with local employers and by providing focused, personal support and long term follow up for the employees.
